A decade after its release, Big Sean celebrates the 10th anniversary of his 2012 mixtape Detroit. by adding the project to digital streaming platforms.
In addition, the Detroit rapper adds the unreleased and lyrically-infused “More Thoughts” as a bonus. The track, which he first teased back in 2019, is produced by KeY Wane, Amaire Johnson, and Lamont Lawrence.
“I was just in the vibe, i just wanted to rap n go in n have fun n stay creative. Try flows n just be experimental wit the shit. I was different coming out of Detroit for sure but knew i had the whole city on my back!,” said Big Sean of the mixtape while fielding questions on Twitter.
The original 17 tracks was released back on September 5, 2012. The critically-acclaimed project is lead by the single “Mula” and guests Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, French Montana, Royce 5’9″, Jeezy, Jhene Aiko, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, and more. In 2020, Big Sean released the follow with his Detroit 2 album.
