Cassie Ventura has broken silence just days after a recently leaked video that showed her being physically assaulted by then-boyfriend Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs.
On Thursday (May 23), Cassie issued a statement on her Instagram handle to thank her followers for their love and support during the difficult time.
“Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet,” wrote Ventura. “The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning.”
She then spread awareness towards other victims of domestic violence.
“My only ask is that EVERYONE open your heart to believing victims the first time. It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in. I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear,” she continued. “Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone. This healing journey is never ending, but this support means everything to me,” she concluded her message.”
Earlier in the week, Diddy issued a statement apologizing for his actions in the video. which was leaked just days prior. The disturbing clip showed Combs assaulting Ventura at a hotel back in 2016.
