Grafh and 38 Spesh link with the R-O-C on their new single, “Rocafella Chain” featuring Memphis Bleek, Freeway, and Peedi Crakk.
Over 38 Spesh’s horn-infused production, Grafh pays homage to Roc-A-Fella Records with a couple of the label’s former artists.
Grafh begins, “I’m the king of New York, no way going around it / Had the crown so long my skin started to grow around it / He continues, “My name show up then the game woke up / Then I sign a Roc-A-Fella right when Jay and Dame broke up / But did you ever get a Roc-A-Fella chain ? / No, what it ain’t go up, but I made it anyway so what.”
Freeway (“Everybody ice, Wayne Gretzky me / Momma talking too spicy please respect a G.”) and Peedi (“Don’t disrespect me, miss me trying to diss me indirectly / Please address me Mr. ‘Way call me Mr. Les’.”) follow suite, before Bleek rounds out the cipher.
“Bought a couple new chains from all of the old money / Not the royalties, but off that platinum and gold money / Pick a spot, I got that where you want to go money / That J.Cole Fuck it let my hair grow money / That Kanye, let the world look like me money ‘/ ‘Cause I show up to the club with that No ID money.”
“Rocafella Chain” is the latest single off Grafh and 38 Spesh’s forthcoming album, God’s Timing, which includes “Fight For Love” featuring Method Man and “Right Now” with Talib Kweli and Haile Supreme.
