Drake’s home is centered in a shooting investigation that left one man injured.
On Tuesday (May 7), Toronto police first reported the incident took place at 2:09 am near the corner of Bayview and Lawrence Avenues in the luxury neighborhood of Bridle Path. The entrance to the rapper’s 50,000-square-foot home was taped off by police for their investigation.
CBC news reports the male victim is a security guard at Drake’s home and was hit during a drive-by shooting. He was found unconscious with a gunshot wound to his upper chest when officers arrived. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, where he underwent surgery. Toronto police reports a suspect of a unknown description fled the scene in a vehicle following the shooting.
The incident happens just days after an eventful weekend involving an ongoing rap battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. On Friday (May 3), Kendrick released “6:16 In LA” and Drake responded with “Family Matters“. Kendrick countered with “Meet The Grahams” and “Not Like Us” the next day, before Drake fired back with “The Heart Part 6” earlier this week.
Last month, a security guard was shot outside of The Weekend’s manager, Amir “Cash” Esmailian’s home in Los Angeles.
