Dr. Dre. has officially earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On Tuesday (Mar. 19), the hip hop producer and mogul accepted the honor for the recording category at ceremony at 6840 Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA.
“I’m incredibly grateful for your support throughout the years. Most of us have grown up together,” said the 59-year-old Compton native. “And at nearly 60 years old, you’re still rocking with me, and I really appreciate that. Thank you so much. Which is really good, because I’m nowhere near done. You better believe there’s a lot more coming.”
Prior to his speech, long-time friend and collaborator Snoop Dogg, praised the Doc. “”I want to thank me,” joked Snoop as the Long Beach rapper described Dre as “my teacher, mentor, brother, guardian, protector, and most importantly a good friend. He continued, “You always bring out the best in the dog Dr. Dre, and that I do appreciate. There would be no Snoop without Dre. Together, we created magic in the studio, and our collaborations have left a lasting mark on the world of music.
Others present during the historic event included Eminem, 50 Cent, Jimmy Iovine, and others. Dr. Dre is now the 2,7775 on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. He joins his fellow peers including 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Nipsey Hussle, Tupac Shakur, and more.
Later on that evening, Dr. Dre, Snoop, and 50 Cent spoke on the event on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The trio also starred in the show’s skit, “Dre’s Anatomy” with Eminem.
