Likkle Miss, the previously released track from Dancehall artist Skeng, has been revamped by the Queen of Rap, Nicki Minaj.
Minaj unveiled the collab with the track’s cover art, which features the rapper in a striking pink ensemble and a neck choker with the pattern of the Jamaican flag.
Skeng reworked the intro, hailing Nicki’s fans with the lines: “Da one yah represent for the Barbz dem. Nicki dis, Nicki dat, Nicki bad,” before the rap queen dropped her opening lines, “Caribbean girls run it” … and called out Skeng’s ‘Ratty Gang’ posse.
The Trinidadian-born rapper took well to the Drop Top Records-produced beat and shows off her top-tier lyrical prowess with ease. “Dancehall need this” she spits in her verses and she matches Skeng’s flows, asserting: “Eh gun man, Bad B!tch mi a yuh Don,” and “Bad Gal, Mi a di wickedest Barbie… ah Skeng, Likkle Miss!”
The Likkle Miss remix was added as track 2 to the Queen Radio album today, though the collection was officially released on Friday (August 26). Upon the album’s release Nicki told Instagram fans, she’ll be, “Adding a surprise on it tomorrow ✨.”
The remix credits a host of additional writers, namely, Sebastian Loers, Antonio Lynch, and Rowan Melhado (Drop Top Records), along with Kevon Douglas (Skeng) and Nicki Minaj (real name Onika Maraj).
Skeng is best known for his hit songs Gvnman Shift, Protocol with Tommy Lee Sparta, Heaven Passport with Intence, London, 23, and Street Cred, which have made him one of the most streamed artists in Jamaica over the last year. Minaj had previously endorsed Skeng’s Street Cred and Gvnman Shift, and lauded Protocol as the “baddest song to come out in years”.
Recently, Skeng along with close friends/producers John Coop and Shacko Di Truth (Ditruth Records) signed with Geejam Music in a global publishing deal with Downtown Music Services.
Nicki Minaj previously collaborated with another Jamaican star Skillibeng on the Crocodile Teeth (Remix), which peaked at No. 100 on the Hot 100 last year.
Her other Dancehall collaborations include the Hold Yuh (Remix) with Gyptian, the Touch Down (Remix) with Vybz Kartel and Stylo G, Give It All To Me with Mavado, and Gun Shot with Beenie Man off her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album.
